We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Broadcast Support Engineer to join our Technology team at DAZN’s Hyderabad office. The successful candidate will play a critical role in monitoring and supporting DAZN’s broadcast infrastructure, ensuring the reliable delivery of live sports content to millions of users across the globe.

This role requires strong technical knowledge of broadcast systems, playout, multicast IP networking, contribution, SRT and RTP transport protocols, and video/audio encoding technologies. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting capability, be quick to respond during incidents, and provide detailed technical analysis supported by logs and evidence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical faults, maintaining critical broadcast systems, and working closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure uninterrupted operations.

As this is a 24/7 operational environment, the role requires shift work and on-call support as part of a rota-based schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Broadcast System Monitoring:

  • Monitor DAZN’s critical broadcast and playout systems to ensure service availability and performance.
  • Continuously track system health, alarms, and operational status using monitoring platforms such as DataMiner, Grafana, and similar alerting tools.
  • Perform alert monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalation based on DataMiner alarms and system notifications.
  • Escalate issues proactively before they impact live services or scheduled events.Technical Fault Resolution:
  • Act as an escalation point for operations teams in resolving technical faults affecting broadcast and production systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across playout, contribution, multicast IP networking, encoding, SRT/RTP transport streams, and related broadcast technologies.
  • Use Probe Analyser or equivalent stream analysis tools to investigate feed-related issues, packet loss, bitrate abnormalities, transport stream errors, and signal quality concerns.
  • Analyse logs, alarms, and transport stream evidence to provide detailed root cause findings and technical reports.
  • Perform technical investigations and identify root causes of recurring or critical incidents.Incident Management:
  • Respond quickly to technical incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to live broadcasts and production workflows.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams and operational stakeholders during high-priority incidents.
  • Ensure incidents are tracked, communicated, and resolved in accordance with internal SLAs and support procedures.Preventive Maintenance:
  • Perform regular maintenance and health checks on broadcast playout systems and associated production equipment.
  • Support software updates, hardware upgrades, and configuration changes across the broadcast environment.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and tested before implementation.
  • Follow established best practices and procedures within internal and external ITSM systems.
  • Create, update, and manage incident, problem, and change records accurately.
  • Ensure all troubleshooting steps, findings, and resolutions are clearly documented.Collaboration and Communication:
  • Attend regular meetings with team leaders, senior engineers, and operational teams to review incidents and improve processes.
  • Contribute to the creation and enhancement of technical documentation, runbooks, and instructional guidance.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.Vendor Management:
  • Communicate and escalate issues to vendors when required.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment, software, or service-related faults.
  • Track vendor actions and ensure timely follow-up until issues are fully resolved.Documentation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Maintain accurate documentation for broadcast systems, incident reports, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and operational guidance documents to support consistent incident handling and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide detailed post-incident analysis including logs, screenshots, evidence, and root cause documentation.
  • Participate in post-incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) discussions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, monitoring, and operational processes to enhance service reliability.Shift and On-Call Support:
  • Work within a 24/7 shift-based support environment, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Provide on-call support during major sporting events, critical incidents, or scheduled maintenance windows.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Broadcast Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent practical experience in broadcast operations or support environments will also be considered.Must Have Skills:
  • Experience supporting broadcast technology environments including playout, contribution, multicast IP networking, SRT and RTP transport protocols, and video/audio encoding.
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical fault-finding skills with the ability to perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Strong hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as DataMiner, Grafana, or equivalent platforms for alert monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of broadcast workflows and operational processes within a live or 24/7 environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple incidents simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in shift-based or 24/7 operational support roles.Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of broadcast infrastructure
  • Experience working with live sports broadcasting or media delivery environments.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools such as HALO, Jira, Confluence, or equivalents.
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, and packet analysis tools.
  • Experience with Probe Analyser, Wireshark, or similar troubleshooting tools.
  • Exposure to vendor management and third-party technical support processes.Key Competencies:
