Job Description
Overview
Step into the heart of Major League Soccer and be part of a team that’s shaping the player experience across the League. As a Player Engagement Coordinator, you’ll join a highly collaborative group dedicated to supporting players, empowering clubs, and driving the continued growth of MLS.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in bringing programs and events to life, while helping ensure seamless day-to-day operations for the department. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, curious, and thrives on connecting the dots—someone who doesn’t just execute but elevates everything they touch.
The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, resourceful, and confident navigating sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion. You’ll regularly interact with players, clubs, and league stakeholders, making trust, judgment, and communication essential to your success.
This is a temporary, non-exempt position running from June 1, 2026 through March 30, 2027, based on-site at MLS Headquarters four days per week.
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and provide support with the planning and execution of department events including Rookie Symposium and the Club Player Engagement Summit
• Coordinate logistics for both virtual and in-person player programs, such as the Intercultural Awareness Workshop and International Player Workshop
• Organize planning calls and support outreach to players, speakers, and key stakeholders
• Manage media logistics for events, including coordinating with internal/external partners and scheduling interviews
• Support marketing and communications efforts, including updates to the department website and MLS Greats Network database
• Provide essential administrative and operational support across the Player Engagement team
• Build strong, trusted relationships with players and club personnel across the League
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in the sports industry
• Experience as a former professional Major League Soccer Player
Required Skills
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity
• Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-first environment
• Strong communication skills—both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Sound judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Highly motivated, energetic, and eager to take initiative
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Skills
• Knowledge of Major League Soccer
