About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Platform Engineer to join our team, preferably based in Atlanta, GA, or remotely across the United States. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and scaling our modern Data platform to support core data engineering, analytics, and machine learning capabilities. Your contributions will directly influence key performance metrics such as Time-to-Bet, Deposit Velocity, and Platform Integrity by integrating low-latency machine learning models into our sports betting and daily fantasy ecosystems. You will be responsible for designing scalable data architectures, implementing real-time data streaming solutions, and ensuring the robustness and security of our data infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of data technology within a rapidly growing and innovative company, impacting how millions of users engage with sports entertainment daily.
Qualifications
- 3\+ years of experience in Platform Engineering or related roles
- Proficiency in streaming architectures such as Kafka, Flink, or PubSub
- Experience building low-latency services for stream ingestion and processing
- Strong knowledge of containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes
- Deep understanding of data lifecycle management and exploration environments
- Expertise in programming with Python and Go
- Hands-on experience with cloud services, preferably GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, GKE) or AWS equivalents
- Extensive experience with Big Data technologies like Spark, Flink, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow, Polaris, OpenMetadata, Iceberg, Lakehouse, Redis, Elasticsearch, and databases
- Experience developing REST APIs and building reusable libraries
- Proven track record of contributing throughout the entire project lifecycle from conception to deployment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data platforms supporting batch and streaming use cases
- Build and maintain data catalog and lineage capabilities to enable data discoverability and governance
- Architect and implement real-time data pipelines for low-latency streaming and near real-time analytics
- Deploy and manage low-latency services for streaming data ingestion and model inference
- Champion best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Ensure complete observability and high availability of data platforms, targeting 99.99% uptime
- Implement robust data security architectures and controls to protect sensitive information
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions with existing systems and workflows
- Stay updated with emerging data technologies and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure
