About the Role
PrizePicks is seeking an experienced leader to oversee line-setting strategy, projection accuracy, and market expansion across its fantasy sports offerings. In this role, you will lead a team of data scientists and analysts responsible for creating markets and originating player props across major sports and esports.
You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Pricing, and Business Operations teams to launch new markets, improve projection models, and expand coverage. The role combines data science, statistical modeling, team leadership, and market strategy, with a focus on maintaining accurate projections, reliable data, and a strong overall market offering.
Key Responsibilities
- Own line-setting strategy and projection accuracy across fantasy markets, balancing market coverage with competitive line quality.
- Lead, develop, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and analysts focused on market creation and prop origination.
- Oversee the development and deployment of projection models and the expansion of coverage across major sports and esports, including the NBA, NFL, MLB, and CS2.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Pricing, and Business Operations teams to launch new markets and broaden coverage.
- Guide experimentation involving line accuracy, prop selection, and coverage strategy to increase engagement and expand the market catalog.
- Maintain and improve frameworks for measuring projection accuracy, evaluating coverage quality, and monitoring market health.
- Ensure data integrity and modeling quality across all market origination efforts.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in sports betting, fantasy sports, or related gaming industries, ideally with exposure to line setting, trading, or player performance modeling.
- Strong technical foundation in data science, statistics, or software engineering.
- Demonstrated management experience, including leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R.
- Experience with predictive modeling, forecasting, and statistical techniques.
- Strong understanding of how player props and sports and esports markets are structured, originated, and modeled.
- Proven ability to lead complex projects from initial concept through launch in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across data, product, and operations teams.

Salary & Benefits
The typical annual salary range for this position is $160,000–$190,000. Actual compensation depends on work location, role level, skills, experience, and education. Candidates can discuss the applicable salary range with their recruiter during the hiring process.

Location and Work Arrangement
