Compensation: Early Equity \+ Cash Stipends (Pre-Series A) transitioning to $110,000 – $130,000 Base Salary \+ Performance Bonuses upon projected Q3/Q4 funding close

SportsBiz is disrupting the $100B sports sponsorship industry with our proprietary AI analytics platform, DeepSport Solutions. Leveraging breakthrough generative AI and Computer Vision pipelines, we evaluate brand exposure across live sports broadcasts in real time. We are hiring an elite Data Science Team Lead to convert our R&D achievements into a scaled, enterprise-grade product platform for major global brands, teams, and leagues.
Startup Stage & Compensation Structure
- Company Stage: $30M current valuation, preparing to close a $5M second-round capital raise by end of Q3.
- Current Structure: In alignment with our leadership team (20\+ ex-Fortune 500 execs and co-founders), this role operates on a Day-1 Equity (ESOP) model paired with routine cash stipends prior to round completion.
- Post-Funding Transition: Upon closing our $5M round, you will immediately transition to a full-time base salary of $110,000 – $130,000 plus performance bonuses.
What You'll Own
- Platform Scaling: Expand infrastructure and processing throughput for high-volume, live sports audiovisual recordings.
- R&D Strategy: Translate Product, Sales, and Marketing priorities into technical R&D initiatives, efficiently allocating team resources and trimming dead ends.
- Team Leadership: Coordinate a distributed, cross-functional team of ML engineers, Computer Vision researchers, Software Engineers, and Data Scientists.
- Engineering Standards: Establish best practices for robust, production-ready software development and automated pipeline deployment.
- Roadmapping & Delivery: Set realistic delivery timelines for Sales and Delivery teams to manage enterprise client commitments.
- AI Innovation: Track emerging developments in generative AI, ML, and Computer Vision to continuously upgrade platform features.
- Mentorship: Guide and grow team members to align personal career trajectory with company goals.
Qualifications
- Product Execution: Track record of taking an AI- or ML-based product from concept to commercial production.
- Leadership Experience: Formal or informal leadership experience managing technical talent, sprint cycles, and cross-functional coordination.
- Core Language: Advanced, production-level expertise in Python (required).
- Cloud Architecture: Strong experience with AWS (or deep expertise in GCP/Azure).
- Domain Expertise: Familiarity with Computer Vision, image/video processing pipelines, or high-throughput data architectures.
