Job Description

Celtic FC is seeking an experienced First Team Analyst to join its Performance Analysis department.

Reporting to the Head of Analysis, you'll play a key role in delivering tactical and strategic insights that support the First Team Manager, coaching staff and players. Combining video analysis, performance data and live scouting, you'll help inform match preparation, opposition analysis and long-term performance development within one of Europe's most iconic football clubs.

As First Team Analyst, you'll provide comprehensive analysis across match preparation, opposition scouting and performance review, delivering objective insights that influence coaching decisions and player development.

Working closely with the coaching staff, you'll contribute to tactical planning, set-piece strategy and ongoing research projects, while helping to drive innovation across the club's analysis provision.

  • Collect, organise and analyse match data, video and performance statistics.
  • Deliver detailed opposition analysis, identifying strengths, weaknesses and tactical trends.
  • Produce pre-match reports and presentations for coaches and players.
  • Travel to scout domestic and European opponents.
  • Support tactical planning, including open-play and set-piece strategies.
  • Create visual presentations, dashboards and analytical reports.
  • Integrate video and data to support evidence-based coaching decisions.
  • Conduct research projects to improve individual and team performance.
  • Support the implementation of performance monitoring tools where required.
  • Work closely with coaches, sports science staff and external technology providers.
  • Maximise the use of analysis software and performance technologies.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in football analysis and analytical best practice.
  • Contribute to wider departmental projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Science or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience within an elite football environment.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Ability to interpret performance data and integrate it into player and coach feedback.
  • Strong football knowledge demonstrated through coaching qualifications, playing experience or previous analysis work.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to deliver constructive feedback.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.
  • UEFA B Licence.
  • ISPAS accreditation (or equivalent).
  • Remote Pilot (Drone) Operator accreditation.
  • Full UK driving licence.
