Job Description
Leicester City FC are seeking a First Team Set Piece Analyst to join their Performance Analysis department at the club's world-class Seagrave Training Ground.
Reporting to the Lead Performance Analyst, you'll play a key role in maximising attacking and defensive set-piece performance by delivering tactical analysis, video insights, and evidence-based recommendations that directly influence First Team preparation and matchday performance.
- Lead the analysis of attacking and defensive set-pieces across all First Team fixtures.
- Deliver detailed pre-match opposition reports highlighting tactical trends, routines, strengths, weaknesses, and exploitable opportunities.
- Produce post-match reviews using video, data, and presentation tools to support continuous improvement.
- Monitor and benchmark set-piece performance against internal objectives and league standards.
- Research emerging tactical trends and global best practice in set-piece strategy.
- Create high-quality reports, dashboards, presentations, infographics, and video content.
- Integrate performance data with video analysis to provide evidence-based insights.
- Maintain organised video libraries, databases, and analytical resources.
- Collaborate with the Data & Insights department to enhance analysis workflows and decision-making.
- Support innovation within the Performance Analysis department through new technologies and analytical methodologies.
- Work closely with First Team coaches, players, analysts, and multidisciplinary staff.
- Stay up to date with developments in football analytics, data science, and set-piece strategy.
- Experience working within a professional football performance analysis environment.
- High-level proficiency with Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Keynote, and related analysis software.
- Excellent tactical understanding of attacking and defensive set-pieces.
- Ability to communicate technical and tactical information clearly to coaches and players.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Performance Analysis, Sport Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience as a specialist Set Piece Analyst in elite or professional football.
- Experience delivering live match analysis and operating live video workflows.
- Experience integrating video analysis with performance data.
- MSc in Performance Analysis, Sport Science, or a related discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
