Job Description

Chelsea FC Women are seeking an exceptional Head of Analysis to lead and evolve the club's world-class performance analysis function across the First Team and wider women's football pathway.

Reporting to the Head Coach and Technical Director, you'll lead the performance, opposition and data analysis department, driving innovation while translating the club's Game Model into actionable insights that influence performance, recruitment and player development.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the analytical direction of one of the most successful and ambitious clubs in women's football.

As Head of Analysis, you'll provide strategic leadership across all areas of performance analysis, overseeing the delivery of match analysis, opposition analysis, training analysis and data-driven decision support.

Working collaboratively with coaches, recruitment staff and academy analysts, you'll ensure a connected analytical approach that supports success across the entire women's programme.

  • Lead and develop Chelsea Women's Analysis department.
  • Establish departmental strategy, standards and best practice.
  • Manage, mentor and develop analysts across performance, opposition and data analysis.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture throughout the department.
  • Oversee match, training and individual player analysis aligned to the club's Game Model.
  • Lead opposition analysis and contribute to tactical planning and matchday strategy.
  • Deliver objective performance insights that support coaching and decision-making.
  • Drive innovation through emerging technologies and analytical methodologies.
  • Work closely with the Recruitment and Academy teams to align analytical frameworks.
  • Support long-term player development across the women's pathway.
  • Provide analytical input to recruitment decisions alongside the Head of Recruitment.
  • Ensure analysis contributes to talent identification and succession planning.
  • Manage departmental budgets, software platforms and analytical infrastructure.
  • Build strong relationships with coaches, technical staff and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure analysis services remain at the forefront of elite women's football.

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Minimum five years' experience in performance, opposition or data analysis within elite football.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and strategic projects.
  • Excellent understanding of tactical and technical football analysis within the women's game.
  • Advanced knowledge of:

  • Catapult
  • Ability to communicate complex video and performance insights clearly to coaches and stakeholders.
  • Outstanding communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • UEFA B Licence (or higher).
  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience working in the Women's Super League or equivalent elite women's football environment.
  • Experience supporting recruitment and academy analysis.
  • UEFA A Licence.
  • Leadership or management qualifications.
  • Additional language skills.
