Job Description
Port Vale FC are recruiting an experienced Head of Performance Analysis to lead the delivery of the First Team analysis programme, working directly with the First Team Manager, coaching staff and players.
This is a senior applied analysis position with responsibility for shaping and delivering the club’s First Team Performance Analysis provision.
The successful candidate will combine opposition analysis, match analysis, tactical insight and player-facing delivery, while working closely with the coaching team to continually evolve how analysis supports performance.
- Lead opposition analysis using video and data, identifying key insights to inform in- and out-of-possession game plans.
- Design and deliver pre- and post-match analysis meetings for the team, units and individual players.
- Produce telestrated video to communicate tactical and educational information effectively.
- Travel with the First Team to all fixtures and provide live, real-time analysis to support in-game decision-making.
- Work closely with the First Team Manager and coaching staff to shape and develop the analysis provision.
- Maintain best-practice libraries aligned to the club’s game model and principles of play.
- Remain at the forefront of developments in football analysis, identifying new technologies, processes and approaches that can enhance practice.
Applicants should have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a Performance Analyst within a professional football club.
- Detailed technical and tactical understanding of football.
- Significant experience using Hudl and Catapult products within Performance Analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and engage at senior level.
- Ability to operate flexibly within a fast-paced First Team environment.
- A valid full UK driving licence.
