Job Description
Derry City FC are seeking a Head of Player Recruitment to lead the club’s recruitment strategy across First Team and Academy football.
The successful candidate will combine traditional scouting expertise with modern data analytics and video scouting to identify, evaluate, and recruit players aligned with the club’s philosophy, playing style, and long-term ambitions.

⚽ Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the club’s recruitment strategy
- Work closely with the First Team Manager & Academy Manager
- Build squad succession plans across key positions
- Utilise live scouting, video analysis, and data platforms
- Deliver detailed player and opposition reports
- Support transfer negotiations with clubs, agents, and players
- Build strong football industry networks across Ireland and beyond
- Monitor academy player progression and loan opportunities
Essential Requirements
- Experience in football recruitment, scouting, or player analysis
- Strong understanding of Irish football structures and regulations
- Ability to integrate data-driven decision-making into recruitment
- Experience using platforms such as Wyscout, Hudl, or TransferRoom
- Excellent communication, networking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a high-pressure elite football environment

- High-level playing or coaching experience
- Set piece coaching experience
- Experience in player negotiations and contracts
- Strong knowledge of tactical analysis and opposition assessment
