Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is seeking a Head Video Analyst, responsible for recording and analysing video footage of all first-team training sessions and matches. This person collaborates closely with the first-team coaching and technical staff to further performance results on and off the field. The role oversees the advancement of the club's video-analysis standards and manages the club's video analysts across all levels (LAFC 2 and Academy), providing mentorship and guidance. Based in Los Angeles, CA. Salary range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year.
Essential functions: Film and manage video recording of all first-team training sessions and games; prepare, produce and share sessions and games with applicable technical staff; analyse video footage and prepare recap notes; assist coaching staff in scouting opponents; organise and facilitate individual training and game clips for all first-team players; manage and organise the team platform for uploading and sharing videos and clips; manage and oversee the development and continuous training of video analysts across all levels of the club; stay informed on technological developments to keep the club's standards current.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; minimum 3 years' experience with a professional sports team or related role; experience with data-analysis tools such as StatsBomb IQ, Impect, Sportscode and the Hudl platform; experience operating a drone proficiently; experience adding animation to video; excellent organisational and time-management skills; a collaborative team player able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information; effective English communication (verbal and written); flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; valid US passport and willingness to travel with the team. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Applicants must have US work authorisation (no visa sponsorship).
