Anthem Sports is a leading national distributor of team sports equipment. We help coaches, athletic directors, and players build championship programs with quality gear and exceptional service. We are a fast-paced, collaborative team and we’re growing fast.

We are seeking an Inventory Optimization Analyst to help drive smarter inventory investment decisions across thousands of SKUs in a fast-paced ecommerce and distribution environment.

This is NOT a traditional inventory management position.

We are not looking for someone to count inventory, manage cycle counts, supervise warehouse staff, or simply place purchase orders.

We are looking for a highly analytical professional who can interpret sales trends, supplier performance, purchasing patterns, inventory data, and market conditions to help our leadership team make better business decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze sales trends, purchasing activity, inventory levels, lead times, and supplier performance
  • Develop demand forecasts and inventory recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns and reduce excess inventory
  • Recommend stock versus dropship strategies across thousands of products
  • Evaluate inventory investment levels and working capital utilization
  • Identify fast-growing and underperforming product categories
  • Monitor vendor performance, lead times, and supply chain risks
  • Build dashboards, reports, and KPIs that support executive decision-making
  • Present recommendations that improve profitability, customer service, and inventory efficiency

Questions You'll Help Answer

  • Which products should be stocked versus dropshipped?
  • Which products are tying up cash without generating sufficient return?
  • Which categories are positioned for growth?
  • How can inventory investment remain lean while supporting sales growth?
  • Which vendors present the greatest risk to customer service levels?
  • Where should inventory investments be increased or reduced?

Qualifications

  • 3\+ years of experience in Inventory Analysis, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Analytics, Business Analytics, Purchasing Analytics, or Inventory Optimization
  • Strong forecasting and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience working with large SKU counts
  • Ability to analyze data and turn insights into actionable recommendations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks is a plus

What Makes Someone Successful

  • Data-driven decision maker
  • Naturally curious and analytical
  • Strong critical thinker
  • Comfortable working with large data sets
  • Proactive and forward-thinking
  • Focused on continuous improvement
  • Able to identify trends before they become problems
