Lead Technical Scout at Rangers Fc
Job Description
Rangers FC is seeking an experienced Lead Technical Scout to join its First Team Recruitment Department.
Reporting to the Head of Recruitment, you'll lead technical scouting across key strategic markets, combining video analysis, live scouting and data intelligence to identify players capable of succeeding at Rangers FC.
As Lead Technical Scout, you'll take ownership of technical scouting across Serbia, Austria and Portugal, building expert market knowledge while managing player watchlists, succession planning and recruitment recommendations.
You'll also oversee the club's Data Standouts Technical Scouting process, integrating data and video analysis to identify high-potential players and present evidence-based recommendations to senior recruitment staff.
Working closely with the Chief Scout, Scouting Co-ordinator and Data Insights Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping recruitment strategy and supporting decision-making throughout the transfer window.
- Lead technical scouting across Serbia, Austria and Portugal.
- Build comprehensive knowledge of assigned recruitment markets.
- Maintain player watchlists, succession plans and ongoing monitoring.
- Produce detailed technical scouting reports and player recommendations.
- Assess players against the club's recruitment priorities.
- Manage the Data Standouts Technical Scouting workstream.
- Collaborate with the Data Insights Lead to integrate data and technical scouting.
- Provide technical context through detailed video analysis.
- Produce player dossiers, comparison reports, video playlists and recruitment presentations.
- Support recruitment meetings during transfer windows.
- Chair the weekly Technical Scouting Meeting.
- Coordinate technical recommendations and recruitment priorities.
- Promote consistency in player evaluation across the recruitment department.
- Identify opportunities to improve scouting workflows and recruitment efficiency.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Relevant academic or vocational qualifications (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience within professional football in scouting or performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of talent identification and recruitment processes.
- Knowledge of domestic and international football markets.

- FA Level 3 Talent Identification qualification (or working towards).
