The Manager of Community Impact (CI) plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Community Impact and advancing the organization’s philanthropic and community engagement goals. This role focuses on executing community programs, coordinating activations, and ensuring that initiatives are delivered with excellence and measurable impact. The Manager collaborates across departments, with nonprofit and corporate partners, and with the NBA to drive meaningful engagement throughout Charlotte and the Carolinas.
This position will report to the Director of Community Impact, and work closely with the Partnership Activation, Communications, Digital Media and Consumer Engagement team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Create, plan and execute community events and programs that align with the organization’s philanthropic pillars.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure contractual community obligations and activations are fulfilled.
• Lead the Hornets Book Bus initiative, including strategic planning, execution and oversight of the four-person team.
• Manage and grow the Hornets Community social media accounts, ensuring content reflects brand values and community impact.
• Establish and cultivate positive relationships with nonprofit, civic and corporate partners.
• Maintain the Community Impact website and operations manual, including updates, process monitoring and staff adoption of procedures.
• Execute in-game community programs and initiatives in collaboration with game presentation and operations staff.
• Plan and coordinate the annual team autograph session and manage the Community Impact signed inventory.
• Assist in the execution of Hornets Foundation events and programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Support program evaluation by tracking data, gathering impact stories and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor community program budgets and provide administrative support for financial processes.
• Represent the Hornets at nonprofit events during business hours, evenings and weekends as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Community Impact department.
• Demonstrate professionalism and uphold HSE brand standards in all interactions and deliverables.
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you will have or demonstrate the following skills and abilities:
•
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in community impact, corporate social responsibility, nonprofit management, philanthropy, community engagement, or a related field.
•
At least 2 years of experience leading or managing programs, initiatives, or cross functional projects, including oversight of timelines, budgets, and measurable outcomes.
•
Demonstrated experience executing community events, public-facing activations, and partnership-driven initiatives.
•
Experience working collaboratively with corporate partners, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and/or professional sports or entertainment organizations strongly preferred.
•
Proven track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
•
Experience tracking impact metrics, preparing reports, and presenting results to internal and external stakeholders.
•
Prior experience managing social media accounts or digital engagement strategies for a brand, nonprofit, or organization preferred.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays to support games and events
