Pro Ref is entering an exciting new chapter as it continues to raise refereeing standards across the professional game in England. Supporting over 600 Match Officials operating in the Premier League and EFL, Pro Ref is expanding its Insights and Analysis department and is looking for a Match Analyst to help deliver world-class performance analysis that supports officiating excellence.
This is a unique opportunity to combine football analysis with referee performance, working at the heart of elite English football.
As Match Analyst, you'll be responsible for coding, analysing and interpreting footage from Premier League and EFL Championship fixtures, providing objective insights that support Match Officials, coaches and the wider technical team.
Working within the Insights and Analysis department, you'll contribute to referee preparation, post-match review and continuous performance improvement through high-quality video analysis and evidence-based feedback.
- Review Match Officials' performances through detailed video analysis.
- Code match footage using bespoke performance analysis software.
- Analyse video and performance data to support coaching, reflection and development.
- Produce accurate and timely analysis to inform performance reviews.
- Support the Match Analysis Manager, Lead Match Analyst and Performance Analysis Manager.
- Ensure match footage is processed and delivered through internal platforms.
- Assist with internal communications and departmental workflows.
- Support practical training events using the latest analysis technologies.
- Work collaboratively across the Insights and Analysis department.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and departmental objectives.
- Attend training sessions, development events and meetings as required.
- Help identify opportunities to improve analysis processes and working practices.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Experience analysing football using performance analysis software such as Hudl Sportscode, Angles and/or MatchTracker.
- Excellent understanding of the Laws of the Game.
- Strong knowledge of Premier League and EFL Championship football.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and around the football calendar.
- Experience as a Performance or Match Analyst within professional sport.
- Refereeing qualification or a strong interest in officiating.
- Experience handling confidential performance information.
- Degree in Performance Analysis, Sports Coaching, Sports Science or a related discipline.
