Job Description
Oxfordshire Cricket are looking for a Performance Analyst to help deliver a high-performing talent development system. The Performance Analyst will coordinate and deliver high quality performance analysis services to the Men’s and Women’s 1st Xi within home, white ball competition matches. This role is pivotal in deliverable actionable insights that directly influence tactics, individual player progression and team performance to help Oxfordshire to achieve success within the National Counties Cricket Association (men) and ECB Tier 3 (women) competition.
• Engagement Period: Mid-April to the end of August
• Pay and Hours: Paid on a daily basis to meet the agreed delivery needs
• Location: Flexible within Oxfordshire (travel required)
• Commitment: A minimum of 4 ‘home’ match days for both Men and Women (primarily Sundays and Bank Holidays)
Role and Responsibilities
1. Technical Infrastructure and Equipment Management
○ Lead the end-to-end management, maintenance, and auditing of all performance analysis hardware and software to ensure operational readiness that meets needs
○ Direct the setup and operation of capture technology and coding platforms (e.g., NV Play and PCS Pro) for match environments.
○ Ensure professional live streaming of matches and produce high-quality post-match footage and match highlights packages for media that can be used across media channels.
2. Match Operations and Data Capture
○ Deliver precise, real-time live match coding and data capture during home, white ball matches to support objective, in-game decision-making.
○ To capture and collate footage for a video library, for our high-potential players
○ Serve as the primary point of contact for opposition teams and analysts to ensure seamless data capture and live streaming
○ Manage the physical setup of the analysis equipment at home match venues, ensuring all technical feeds and data streams are stable and accurate.
3. Tactical Intelligence
○ Develop data-driven opposition strategic previews/ scouting reports and series previews to inform match strategies and tactical planning.
○ Maintain and manage comprehensive performance databases to support long-term player development and player recruitment processes.
4. Performance Feedback and Reviews
○ Conduct detailed post-match analysis, gathering and providing tailored video and statistical feedback to coaching staff and individual players.
○ Translate complex data sets into actionable tactical insights that directly inform coaching approaches and future match preparations.
○ Generate comprehensive post white ball competition reports that evaluate team performance
5. Strategic Support and Administration
○ Provide the Selection Panels with impactful, data-backed insights to inform objective team selection and long-term squad health
○ Complete all administrative duties, audit logs, and software management tasks as required by the Performance Director
