Product Development Engineer | Connected Sports Technology at Skyline Search Partners
Job Description
Overview
Love building products?
If you're the type of engineer who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, building prototypes, solving challenging technical problems, and seeing your ideas become real products, this may be one of the most unique product engineering opportunities in the Twin Cities.
I'm partnering with an innovative product company that's developing the next generation of connected sports training equipment. You'll work across mechanical design, embedded systems, sensors, software, mobile applications, and real-world physics to help bring innovative products from concept through commercialization.
This isn't a role where you design one part and hand it off. You'll own products throughout the development lifecycle—brainstorming new ideas, creating CAD models, building and testing prototypes, implementing engineering changes (ECOs/ECRs), troubleshooting in the lab, and collaborating with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to launch products used by athletes around the world.
What You'll Build
- Innovative connected hardware products from concept through commercialization
- Hands-on prototypes and real-world product testing
- Products utilizing radar, sensors, embedded electronics, wireless connectivity, and machine learning
- Cross-functional solutions spanning mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and manufacturing
You Might Be a Great Fit If You Have Experience With
- Product development or new product introduction
- Mechanical design and CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
- Prototype development and testing
- Engineering changes (ECOs/ECRs)
- Connected products, electromechanical systems, robotics, automation, sensors, or embedded technologies
- Bonus:
Formula SAE, Baja SAE, FIRST Robotics, machine vision, motion capture, consumer products, or personal engineering projects.
