Overview

Research Analyst

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) is the nonprofit trade association representing the firearm industry and supporting the interests of its members across the shooting sports and hunting community. NSSF is seeking a Research Analyst to support the organization’s growing research and information needs.

This is an opportunity to work on a diverse range of research projects, data requests, surveys, publications, and industry resources while developing a deeper understanding of a unique and evolving industry. We’re looking for someone who is intellectually curious, analytical, detail-oriented, and motivated to produce work that others can rely on.

What You’ll Do

  • Support internal and external research projects, surveys, and data requests from concept through completion.
  • Research, collect, organize, and analyze information from a variety of sources and platforms.
  • Assist with the development of research reports, publications, fact sheets, reference guides, and other resources.
  • Respond to member and non-member research and data requests with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain research resources, tracking tools, and standard operating procedures.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of relevant industry data, research sources, databases, and information platforms.
  • Use research and data platforms, mapping applications, industry databases, and other technology to gather and organize information.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to coordinate research-related projects and information.
  • Support internal survey initiatives and assist with the collection and organization of survey results.
  • Provide backup support for reception and other administrative needs as part of the Research team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in research, data analytics, statistics, or mathematics preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 3\+ years of experience in research, data analysis, business intelligence, market research, or a related field.
  • Strong research, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to gather information from multiple sources, evaluate its relevance and accuracy, and organize it into useful formats.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and follow established processes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
