We are seeking a motivated Senior Motion Graphic Designer to support and lead production development of creative motion design projects and assets from departments across the Player 15 Group (Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury, Valley Suns, and Mortgage Matchup Center). A Sr. Motion Graphics Designer creates dynamic motion content that powers the live arena experience.
What Will You Do:
• Design and produce high-quality motion graphics for in-arena videoboards, LED displays, live events, broadcast, social media, and digital platforms across all Player 15 Group properties, elevating the overall fan experience.
• Execute motion creative within established brand guidelines, ensuring all deliverables are visually compelling, technically accurate, and delivered on schedule.
• Develop motion templates, animation systems, and reusable assets to improve production efficiency across the creative team and external freelance partners.
• Adapt and prepare creative for multiple in-arena display formats, including resizing, reformatting, and optimizing motion content for various LED and videoboard environments.
• Contribute to a wide range of motion design initiatives including game presentation elements, pre-game and non-game day event content, seasonal design systems, editable motion graphics templates (MOGRTs), and large-scale brand campaigns.
• Support environmental and experiential design initiatives including motion elements for production sets, stage design, and in-venue activations.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong communication, organization, and attention to detail in a fast-paced sports and live entertainment environment.
• Oversee freelance motion designers and external production partners, providing creative direction, managing project workflows, distributing templates and brand assets, and ensuring all deliverables meet brand standards, technical requirements, and production deadlines.
What We Need From Our Senior Motion Designer:
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro.
• Cinema4D, Blender, and 3D design platforms
• Deep understanding and ongoing curiosity of design trends
• Experience with project management tools like Asana, Monday.com, Wrike, etc.
• Strong team player able to collaborate with a team of creatives.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and clearly able to articulate design ideas.
• Adhere to brand guidelines in ways that still push creative boundaries.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic videography/production/still graphics skills.
Experience/ Education Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years of Creative Design experience in sports or events industry, agency, or related in-house environment preferred.
• Provide strong portfolio or demo reel.
• Extremely detail oriented and adherence to strict file structure guidelines
• Capable of following digital requirements for constructing files.
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communications, as well as strong organizational skills.
The ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
