Job Summary/Description:
KNOE is looking for a sports reporter/MMJ/weekend sports anchor to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to shoot, edit, write, and have a strong social media skill set. Our three-person KNOE sports department focuses on local athletes along with premier high school and college athletics. We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, someone who thrives under deadlines and is ready to cover some of the best teams in Louisiana and the nation.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Writing, reporting, shooting/editing video, and doing live shots
- Daily news photography and editing
- Must be able to shoot and edit
- Work efficiently alone and in a group
- Contribute content daily to KNOE.COM, KNOE social media, and streaming
- Work in various weather conditions
- Candidate will be scheduled to work weekends
Qualifications/Requirements:
- The successful candidate will be creative, extremely detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
- Two years of anchoring/reporting experience preferred. Experience as a news reporter or other applicable journalism experience may be accepted
- Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under deadline pressure
- Able to work well with a team
- Flexible to work nights and weekends
- Able to sit and stand for extended periods.
- Computer literacy is a must
- Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling
- Experience with HD video production, social media platforms, ENPS, and non-linear editing systems is a definite plus
- A clean driving record, proof of insurance, and a valid driver's license
