Within an hour and a half drive of the station, you’ll find four ski mountains, the City of Rocks National Reserve, Craters of the Moon National Monument, 48’ tall Balanced Rock, the Shoshone Ice Caves, Bruneau Sand Dunes, Jackpot, Nevada, and too many unique hiking trails to count! If you are an outdoorsy person, I promise, you will not be bored!!! Of course, you will find any big-time retail store that you would anywhere else around the country, as well as a growing downtown region that continues to add new local businesses/restaurants. Job Summary/Description: KMVT has an opening for a multimedia journalist/sports reporter. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get a start in TV journalism and who has a passion for local sports coverage. This person will research, shoot, write, edit, and present news stories on the air, typically three days during the week. The two weekend days will focus on sports reporting & anchoring. They will also post news & sports content on our website and be actively involved with social media. Please note - primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the information listed above Qualifications/Requirements: • Experience in college-level broadcast journalism training. (Sports experience is a plus.) • A college degree in broadcast journalism, or equivalent experience. • Video examples of on-air work. • Ability to lift and carry equipment, including a tripod, a camera, and lights. • Ability to work independently. • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record. • Be willing to work weekends, nights, or any given shift. • Must be able to find enterprise news & sports stories. • Must be able to work under deadlines. • Candidates should also exhibit a good work ethic, strong people skills, the ability to be a team player, and must maintain a professional attitude at all times.
