Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
This position owns the strategy, storytelling, and execution of strategic Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth youth initiatives within Smith Entertainment Group. The Youth Enablement & Special Events Manager leads a team to drive youth program visibility, build compelling brand narratives, and deliver high-impact activations that connect the Jazz brand to the next generation of fans. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a decisive leader, and a design-forward strategist who elevates everyone around them as they work to push youth initiatives further through innovation, creativity, and intentional storytelling.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 1–2 team members and interns, setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and fostering a high-performance creative culture.
• Lead planning and execution of all special event activations, including Bantam events, Youth All-Star, League Playoffs, Opening Day, etc.
• Own launch messaging for new youth verticals, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure consistent and compelling positioning with a strong go to market strategy.
• Partner with the marketing team as the subject matter expert on all youth initiatives — driving program goals, setting key objectives, and establishing the story points and messaging that marketing activates across campaigns. Ensure youth programming is represented with clarity, intentionality, and brand consistency across all channels.
• Develop and direct a storytelling content strategy and creative assets that communicate the value, impact, and identity of Utah Jazz youth programs.
• Serve as the primary liaison between our enablement team, the youth department teams, the marketing team, the corporate partnership team and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee youth program website management, ensuring content is current, accurate, and aligned with active campaigns and launches.
• Develop and maintain sales collateral and pitch decks used by the youth teams to present and sell youth programs, onboard new partners, etc.
• Serve as the primary youth liaison to the corporate sponsorship team, providing dedicated support on partner activation fulfillment — ensuring youth programs are accurately represented, well-executed, and consistent with brand standards.
• Support tracking and management of the youth marketing budget, tracking spend across campaigns, events, etc.
• Protect the reputation of the company

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, sports management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales enablement, or a related role, including experience leading projects and/or people; sports or entertainment industry experience a plus.
• Experience with CRM platforms, project management tools, and marketing software.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule as sports and entertainment events may require, including extended days and hours, holidays, and weekends.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening.
• Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar design tools.
