Job Description
Sheffield United are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support the monitoring, analysis, and optimisation of academy players’ physical development across the Professional and Youth Development phases.
Working within an interdisciplinary performance team, the successful candidate will help deliver data-driven insights to support player development, load management, and return-to-play processes.

⚽ Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse and interpret physical performance data using GPS and tracking technologies
- Support player development through data-driven insights and reporting
- Manage pitch-side GPS tracking during training and matches
- Develop engaging dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel
- Work collaboratively with coaches, physios, medics and performance staff
- Support research projects relating to physical development and performance
✅ Essential Criteria
- Degree in Sport Science, Performance Analysis, Data Analysis, Computer Science, Statistics or similar
- Experience using Excel, Power BI and data analytics tools
- Understanding of statistical analysis methods
- Experience within elite/professional sport environments
- Ability to work evenings and weekends in line with academy schedules
- Enhanced DBS & FA Safeguarding Children certification required
⭐ Desirable
- Experience using Catapult GPS systems
- Knowledge of force plate analysis
- Experience within academy football
- R, SQL and/or Python skills
