Job Description

Chelsea FC are seeking a Blue Foundation Phase Football Insights Analyst to join their newly established Football Insights & Intelligence department.

This exciting role focuses on inspiring and educating the club's youngest Academy players (U8–U11) through engaging video insights, interactive learning experiences, and age-appropriate performance feedback. Working closely with coaches and multidisciplinary staff, you'll help develop football understanding, decision-making, and a lifelong passion for the game through Chelsea's Made in Cobham education programme.

Blue Foundation Phase Football Insights Analyst

As the Blue Foundation Phase Football Insights Analyst, you'll combine performance analysis, education, and creative storytelling to make football learning engaging, memorable, and impactful for young players.

You'll contribute to the delivery of innovative learning resources, player feedback, and departmental projects that support both individual player development and coaching practice.

  • Design and deliver engaging, age-appropriate video content for U8–U11 Academy players.
  • Support the delivery of the Made in Cobham Education Programme.
  • Create interactive workshops and learning resources that bring Chelsea's Football Identity to life.
  • Help players develop football understanding, decision-making, and key behaviours through video-based learning.
  • Encourage player reflection and self-review in an age-appropriate manner.
  • Capture, analyse, and review training sessions and matches.
  • Produce individual and team-based video feedback.
  • Work closely with coaches to reinforce learning objectives and coaching messages.
  • Contribute to player reviews and development discussions using actionable insights.
  • Work alongside coaches, analysts, and multidisciplinary practitioners across the Academy.
  • Support Football Insights & Intelligence projects within the Foundation Phase.
  • Build positive relationships with players, coaches, and parents.
  • Assist Talent ID initiatives within the Pre-Academy and Future Blues programmes.
  • Develop creative ways of engaging young players through video and educational content.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and digital learning tools.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of departmental processes and resources.
  • Stay informed on best practice in performance analysis, education, and player development.
  • Strong understanding of football and player development.
  • Ability to communicate football concepts in a simple, engaging, and age-appropriate way.
  • Understanding of Academy player learning and development.
  • Experience creating video analysis and educational content.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate information into clear, actionable learning.
  • Strong written and visual communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Experience using video analysis platforms and presentation software.
  • Confidence using digital learning tools and content creation technologies.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and continuous improvement.

Established in 2025, Chelsea's Football Insights & Intelligence department is dedicated to improving the Football IQ of Academy players through evidence-based decision-making, video analysis, and educational programmes. The department works across all Academy age groups to enhance player development and support Chelsea's football philosophy.
