Job Description

The South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) is seeking a Data Analyst to join its Cricket Department, delivering advanced performance analytics and cricket intelligence across the South Australian Women's State Program, Adelaide Strikers WBBL, and SACA Pathway Programmes.

Working alongside coaches, analysts, and performance support staff, you'll develop data-driven insights that enhance player development, match preparation, and strategic decision-making in one of Australia's leading high-performance cricket environments.

Data Analyst – Cricket Department

  • Deliver performance analysis and cricket intelligence across elite women's and pathway programmes.
  • Produce match-day, opposition, post-match, and seasonal performance analysis.
  • Support coaches and athletes with evidence-based insights that inform performance and strategy.
  • Translate complex data into practical recommendations for player development and team success.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, data pipelines, and machine learning models.
  • Analyse large datasets to identify trends and performance opportunities.
  • Build scalable reporting tools to support high-performance decision-making.
  • Manage and improve data workflows across the Cricket Department.
  • Work closely with coaches, analysts, and performance support staff within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Educate coaches and athletes on the effective use of data, technology, and performance analysis tools.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance culture.
  • Support additional Cricket Department projects as required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sport & Exercise Science or a related discipline.
  • Current South Australian Working With Children Check.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in performance analysis, data science, or a similar role within elite sport.
  • Experience using:
  • Power BI
  • Python
  • R
  • SQL (or equivalent statistical analysis tools)
  • Strong analytical and data science capabilities.
  • Experience working with and managing large datasets.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive within a high-performance sporting environment.
