Job Description

AFC Bournemouth are seeking a First Team Video Scout to support the club’s recruitment department through the identification and assessment of talent across designated regions and leagues via video scouting.

This role will play a key part in supporting player recruitment strategy, producing detailed player assessments, maintaining positional shortlists, and identifying emerging talent capable of strengthening the club’s future squad planning.

⚽ Key Responsibilities

  • Assess players assigned by the Head of Recruitment Operations and Head of Scouting
  • Identify and monitor high-potential players within designated regions
  • Support scouting coverage of international youth tournaments and fixtures
  • Assist with live assessments of emerging domestic talent
  • Produce detailed player reports using the club’s scouting platform
  • Compile video packages highlighting strengths, development areas, and recruitment considerations
  • Support cross-referencing of player targets across multiple regions
  • Maintain accurate positional shortlists and player tracking systems
  • Contribute market intelligence and recruitment research to player dossiers
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external recruitment networks
  • Contribute to recruitment meetings and decision-making processes

Essential Requirements

  • Expertise in talent identification through video scouting across multiple markets and competition levels
  • Excellent knowledge of player standards and Premier League requirements
  • Proficiency with scouting and analysis platforms including Wyscout, Scoutastic, Hudl, and Sportscode
  • Understanding of football recruitment processes and transfer regulations
  • Strong report writing and player assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to independently manage workload and deadlines within a fast-paced environment

⭐ Desirable

  • Previous scouting or recruitment experience within an elite football club
  • FA Talent ID Level 3 qualification or higher
