Job Description
The primary focus of the Equipment Intern is to gain knowledge of a professional equipment room and the processes that go along with it. This position will assist the equipment department in all preparations for daily training/practice and for both home and away games as well as perform any/all other duties as assigned by the equipment staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Daily laundry responsibilities.
• Coordinate daily organization of the locker room.
• Assists in setting up practice fields.
• Assists in the cleaning and repair of players equipment.
• Assists in helping position coaches with various drills during practice.
• Assists in cataloging, inventorying, and inputting equipment information into all league mandated information systems.
• Issuing apparel to players, coaches, and staff.
• Physical Duties: Lift up to 40lbs daily, at times could be more dependent on field equipment which could result in pushing/pulling 100lbs.
GAMEDAY TASKS:
• Set up of locker room for home and away games.
• Assists with the cleanup/setup of half-time locker room layout.
• Distribute gameday apparel as needed to players, coaches, and staff.
• Assists post-game equipment packing, loading, and transport.
• Assists in unpacking/cleaning of equipment and gameday laundry.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
• Basic knowledge of football is preferred.
• Skills in both verbal and written communication
• Organizational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer skills as well as Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Able to work with others in a collaborative team setting.
