Job Description

Newcastle United are seeking a Lead Recruitment Data Analyst to lead the application of data-informed intelligence within the club’s recruitment department.

This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the intersection of recruitment, scouting, and data science, helping identify, evaluate, and rank player targets that support both First Team and emerging global talent objectives.

Lead Recruitment Data Analyst

⚽ Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and rank player targets using data-led methodologies
  • Deliver player analysis and evidence-based recommendations to recruitment stakeholders
  • Support strategic recruitment decisions through objective performance insights
  • Contribute to long-term talent identification and succession planning processes
  • Produce reporting and insights on transfer market trends
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking across domestic and international markets
  • Monitor player value, performance trends, and recruitment opportunities
  • Build and manage recruitment dashboards and automated workflows
  • Develop scalable reporting systems that improve recruitment efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal data teams and external providers to drive innovation and analytical best practice
  • Support the continued evolution of recruitment analytics capabilities across the club
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform recruitment strategy
  • Present findings clearly to recruitment and football leadership stakeholders
  • Translate complex data into practical football decision-making tools

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong experience within football analytics, recruitment analysis, scouting analytics, or related fields
  • Excellent understanding of player recruitment and football performance data
  • Experience building dashboards, databases, and automated reporting workflows
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with large football datasets and recruitment intelligence platforms
  • Passion for football and talent identification
