First Team Performance Analyst at Barnsley Fc

Barnsley FC are seeking a First Team Performance Analyst to deliver high-quality analysis support within an elite football environment. The role will provide tactical, technical, and performance insights through detailed video and data analysis, supporting all aspects of the performance cycle including match preparation, live match decision-making, post-match review, and training delivery. Working closely with coaching and multidisciplinary staff, the successful candidate will play a key role in embedding analysis within the club’s game model, playing philosophy, and performance objectives. • Deliver comprehensive pre-match, live, and post-match analysis to coaches and players • Capture, code, and analyse match and training footage using industry-standard software (e.g. Hudl Sportscode, StatsBomb, Wyscout, Matchtracker) • Provide live tactical feedback during matches to support coaching decisions • Produce detailed post-match reports, including video and statistical breakdowns • Deliver individual player analysis using clips, KPIs, and performance metrics • Produce detailed opposition analysis identifying key trends, strengths, and weaknesses • Support match preparation through evidence-based insights • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation of team tactical performance and game model • Capture and analyse training sessions to support coaching objectives • Provide live and post-session feedback using video and data • Support the integration and monitoring of academy players within the First Team • Maintain and develop performance databases, video libraries, and statistical datasets • Create clear, concise, and engaging visual presentations for staff and players • Contribute to the development of analytical processes and workflows • Stay up to date with developments in performance analysis technology • Collaborate with sports science and medical teams to integrate performance insights • Engage in CPD and contribute to the wider development of the analysis department • Undertake additional duties aligned with the needs of the First Team environment The successful candidate will demonstrate: • Strong understanding of football tactics, game models, and playing styles • High proficiency in performance analysis software (e.g. Hudl Sportscode, StatsBomb, Wyscout) • Ability to translate complex data into practical, football-specific insights • Experience working in an elite football environment (First Team or Academy) • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development Essential: • BSc/BA in Sports Science, Performance Analysis, Coaching, or a related discipline • Experience using performance analysis and video coding software • Enhanced DBS check Desirable: • MSc/MRes in Performance Analysis or a related field (or willingness to work towards) First Team Performance Analyst | Barnsley FC (Jobs in Sports Performance Analysis TheASPA) Share this post: Recruitment Emerging Talent Scout / Loans Co-ordinator | LOFC 24 Apr 2026 1st Team Performance Analysis Placement | Wycombe Wanderers FC 24 Apr 2026 Data Analyst - Performance Science | Brighton & Hove Albion FC 24 Apr 2026 Simply fill in the job  details below and we will add your role to the jobs board This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
