Status: Full-time
Summary:
We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong cloud and data experience to build and modernize enterprise applications. This role works closely with UX/UI designers and software engineers to deliver scalable, user-centered solutions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Azure, deep SQL Server expertise (on-prem and cloud), and a passion for turning data into useful applications. A key part of this role involves supporting analytical workflows—building data pipelines, creating interactive dashboards, and integrating with modern data platforms like Microsoft Fabric. The Full Stack Developer collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Football Strategy, Analytics, and IT, to ensure data availability, security, and efficiency across the organization.
Location:
• This is a full-time position based on-site at the Miami Dolphins Training Facility (Miami Gardens)
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing and leading all backend software development initiatives within the Front Office
• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications in collaboration with UX/UI designers and software engineers
• Provide a consistent and powerful coding standard across the different repos in various languages to help ensure meaningful testing is accomplished and maintainable code is committed
• Support the reliability of the databases, ensuring that they’re secure, scalable and perform efficiently
• Translate UX/UI designs into high-quality, responsive, and accessible user interfaces
• Develop in-house libraries for both frontend and backend components to significantly reduce duplication of code and dramatically increase the consistency and maintainability of the many codebases
• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services and APIs
• Collaborate with the Scouting department to evaluate their needs, analyze their requirements, and develop a solution
• Work across on-prem and cloud environments, supporting hybrid architectures
• Build and maintain data pipelines to ingest, transform, and serve data from internal and external sources
• Develop interactive dashboards and reporting tools to support analytical workflows
• Collaborate with engineering, data, and infrastructure teams on architecture and migration strategy
• Protect operations by keeping confidential information
• Manage and optimize on-prem SQL Server databases, including performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship
Qualifications:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science with at least 5+ years of experience in full-stack software development
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure; familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms a plus
• Extensive experience with on-prem SQL Server and cloud-based SQL solutions
• Skilled and experienced in Windows Operating Systems, server architecture, and cloud security
• Experience working in cross-functional teams, including UX/UI and engineering
• Proficiency with modern front-end frameworks
• Experience modernizing legacy applications
• High level of integrity and the ability to exercise discretion over confidential information
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Experience with modern data platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar
• Work closely with programmers to integrate, produce and translate football operations concepts and requests into working and functional solutions
• Work closely with football video department to manage, support, and maintain integration capabilities, providing recommendations, as needed
• Strong experience with backend technologies (.NET, Node.js, Java, or Python)
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability and willingness to work long and flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
• Familiarity with dashboard frameworks (R Shiny, Streamlit, or similar) a plus
