Job Description
Nottingham Forest FC is seeking an experienced Head of Football Intelligence to lead the club's Football Intelligence function across the First Team, Academy and Women's programme.
Reporting into the football leadership team, you'll shape and deliver the club's long-term data and insights strategy, integrating intelligence into recruitment, performance analysis, squad planning and key football decisions.
This is a senior leadership role combining strategic vision with hands-on delivery, working collaboratively across recruitment, coaching, performance analysis, sports science and medical departments.
As Head of Football Intelligence, you'll lead the club's Football Intelligence team, driving innovation through data, analytics and decision-support systems.
You'll oversee the development of recruitment models, player profiling, benchmarking frameworks, reporting tools and football data infrastructure while ensuring insights are translated into meaningful actions that improve performance across the club.
- Lead, mentor and develop the Football Intelligence team.
- Build strong relationships across recruitment, performance analysis, medical, sports science and football leadership.
- Communicate complex analytical insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support the development of the First Team, Academy and Women's programme.
- Lead projects including:
- Recruitment models
- Player and squad profiling
- Recruitment shortlists
- Match analysis
- Benchmarking frameworks
- Reporting and decision-support tools
- Deliver evidence-based recommendations to football leadership.
- Support recruitment, squad planning and strategic decision-making.
- Define and implement the club's long-term Football Intelligence strategy.
- Integrate data-informed insights across football operations.
- Oversee the football data ecosystem, including infrastructure, reporting and data pipelines.
- Manage relationships with external data providers and technology partners where required.
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Qualification in Data Science, Performance Analysis, Sports Science or a related discipline.
- Significant experience working within elite football analytics.
- Proven ability to translate complex football data into actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, performance analysis and football decision-making.
- Experience developing player profiling, reporting and decision-support tools.
- Strong programming skills using SQL, Python and/or R.
- Experience with data visualisation platforms and web applications.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary projects.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical and tactical understanding of football.
- Previous experience leading a football intelligence or data insights team.
- Experience developing football data infrastructure and ETL pipelines.
- Experience working with event, tracking and physical performance datasets.
- Experience working with football data providers.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development through research, certifications or industry engagement.
