Nottingham Forest FC are recruiting an Academy Head of Performance Analysis to lead, coordinate and develop performance analysis provision across the club’s Academy.

This is a senior Academy analysis position with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the analysis department, the development of staff and interns, and the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights across the player development pathway.

The successful candidate will lead the Academy’s performance analysis provision across all age groups, combining objective and subjective performance data to monitor player development, inform coaching practice and contribute to individual development plans.

Working closely with the Head of Player Development, Methodology and Innovation, Academy Coach Development Manager and wider multidisciplinary team, the role will also help embed the Academy’s football philosophy and methodology.

  • Lead the performance analysis function across Nottingham Forest's Academy.
  • Manage day-to-day analysis operations and ensure effective delivery across all age groups.
  • Oversee analysis supporting the Academy's philosophy, methodology and player-development vision.
  • Use subjective and objective data to monitor and analyse individual Academy players.
  • Deliver actionable insights to coaches, players and Academy management.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop high-quality reporting across the Academy and loan pathway.
  • Drive the development of the club's analytical products, processes and reporting methods.
  • Lead strategic analysis projects supporting the long-term development of the department.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and annual reporting against the Academy's performance-analysis strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the education and development of Academy coaching staff.
  • Develop and implement professional-development programmes for the analysis team.
  • Manage and develop permanent analysis staff.
  • Lead the Academy analysis internship programme, including recruitment, development and day-to-day mentoring of interns.
  • Contribute to wider Academy management and strategic projects.

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Excellent understanding of football tactics and Talent Identification.
  • Professional experience within performance analysis, sports science and/or coaching.
  • Strong understanding of the responsibilities associated with leading an analysis provision.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with players, coaches, practitioners and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced elite football environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong administrative and project-management capabilities.
  • Flexibility to respond to changing demands and priorities.
  • UEFA B Licence.
  • Education in Performance Analysis, Sports Science and/or Coaching.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and relevant digital systems.
  • Strong understanding of performance-analysis processes and reporting.

Experience managing sporting equipment, health and safety responsibilities and complex confidential matters is listed as desirable.

A significant element of this position is the development of the people and processes underpinning Academy analysis.

The successful candidate will oversee analyst professional development, manage the internship pathway and help evolve Nottingham Forest's analytical methods to ensure insights meaningfully influence coaching, player development and performance outcomes.

The role therefore extends beyond analysis delivery into:

Department Leadership → Analyst Development → Methodology → Player Monitoring → Coach Education → Strategic Development

Benefits include:

  • Opportunities to access tickets for events at The City Ground.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • High-street and gym discounts.
  • Club shop discount.
  • Free on-site parking.
