Job Description
Cardiff Metropolitan University is seeking a Lecturer in Sport Performance Analysis to join the Cardiff School of Sport and Health Sciences.
This exciting academic opportunity will see the successful candidate contribute to the delivery of the University's highly regarded BSc (Hons) Sport Performance Analysis programme, while also supporting postgraduate teaching, research, student supervision, and the continued development of one of the UK's leading sport performance analysis departments.
- Deliver teaching across the BSc (Hons) Sport Performance Analysis programme.
- Contribute to cross-programme undergraduate teaching and MSc Professional Practice (Sport Performance Analysis), where appropriate.
- Design engaging teaching materials and assessments.
- Supervise undergraduate projects, placements, and research.
- Provide academic tutoring and pastoral support to students.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous programme enhancement.
- Lead and contribute to research and innovation projects.
- Develop research proposals and secure external funding opportunities.
- Publish peer-reviewed research and practitioner outputs.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Integrate research findings into teaching and learning.
- Work closely with colleagues across the Sport Performance Analysis team.
- Develop internal and external academic and industry partnerships.
- Mentor colleagues where appropriate.
- Contribute to School development initiatives, quality assurance, accreditation, and student recruitment activities.
- Support the continued growth of the Sport Performance Analysis programme.
- Good honours degree in Sport Science or a related discipline with evidence of studying Performance Analysis.
- Proven background in Sport Performance Analysis.
- Understanding of pedagogy and higher education teaching.
- Knowledge of contemporary research and innovation within Performance Analysis.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
- Ability to design teaching materials and deliver engaging learning experiences.
- Experience of teaching, research, or equivalent professional practice.
- Strong communication, organisational, and collaborative working skills.
- Ability to supervise undergraduate research and contribute to research activity.
- Ability to achieve Fellowship of Advance HE within three years of appointment.
- Fellowship of Advance HE.
- Postgraduate qualification and/or relevant professional experience.
- Doctoral qualification (or close to completion).
- Knowledge of research methods.
- Experience teaching in Higher Education.
- Experience working within a Sport Performance Analysis environment.
- Welsh language skills (Beginner/A1 level or above).
