ABOUT OUR COMPANY Philadelphia was awarded the 16th Major League Soccer franchise in February, 2008 and the team was officially announced as the Philadelphia Union in May, 2009.  Owned and operated by Union Sports and Entertainment, the group launched the Philadelphia Union's inaugural season in 2010 and opened what is now Subaru Park in June, 2010.  Subaru Park is an 18,500 seat, world-class soccer specific stadium that sits beautifully along the Delaware River at the base of the Commodore Barry Bridge and is only 15 miles from downtown Philadelphia. Founded in 2015 as Bethlehem Steel FC, Philadelphia Union II is the official affiliate of the Philadelphia Union. The team competed for five seasons in the USL Championship (the first three as Bethlehem Steel FC) before joining the inaugural MLS Next Pro league in 2022. ABOUT THE ROLE The Performance Analyst, Union II is responsible for delivering high-level video and data analysis to support team performance and individual player development within a professional, development-first environment. This role supports the Union II coaching staff with match preparation, opposition scouting, live match support, training feedback, and post-match analysis, while maintaining alignment with Academy and First Team analysis standards. The position plays a key role in preparing players for progression to Major League Soccer. RESPONSIBILITIESPerformance & Match Analysis • Deliver comprehensive match and training analysis to support Union II performance objectives. • Create clear, actionable video content for team and individual player review. • Track individual player development trends over time to support pathway decisions. Opposition Scouting & Match Preparation • Produce detailed opposition reports highlighting tactical structure, tendencies, and key matchups. • Support game-model execution through targeted video and data insights. Live Match & Training Support • Provide live match support, including in-game tagging and halftime video as required. • Support training sessions with live or post-session video feedback aligned to coaching objectives. Player Development & Pathway Alignment • Deliver individualized player clips focused on tactical understanding, decision-making, and role clarity. • Align Union II analysis processes with Academy and First Team frameworks and terminology. • Collaborate with Academy staff to ensure continuity for transitioning players. Analysis Systems & Standards • Maintain high professional standards in the use of video, data, and analysis workflows. • Ensure efficient organization, presentation, and delivery of analysis materials. • Contribute to ongoing refinement of analysis processes and best practices. Other Duties as Assigned • Support additional performance analysis needs across Union II and the Academy as required. REQUIREMENTS • 2–4 years of experience in performance analysis within a professional or elite development soccer environment. • Strong understanding of tactical principles and player development and familiarity Knowledge of Philadelphia Union Game Model, Position Profiles, Key Qualities, etc. • Highly organized, proactive, and process-driven, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on soccer calendar demands. • Experience in or knowledge of the soccer industry preferred. • Bachelor’s degree required. • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
