Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in identifying and supporting the next generation of football talent.
The successful candidate will focus on scouting emerging players aged 17–20 while also supporting the loan pathway strategy, ensuring players are placed in environments that maximise their development.
Working closely with recruitment and coaching staff, this role combines talent identification, relationship building, and player monitoring to support both external recruitment and internal player progression.
• Identify, scout, and monitor players aged 17–20 across academy, professional, and non-league environments
• Build a strong understanding of emerging talent trends, development environments, and key prospects
• Produce clear, structured, and insightful player reports to inform recruitment decisions
• Recommend appropriate loan placements (clubs, leagues, coaches) to support player development
• Build and maintain strong relationships with partner clubs, loan managers, and coaching staff
• Monitor the progress of players out on loan, ensuring ongoing support and development
• Provide regular updates and insights to internal recruitment and coaching teams
This role is ideal for someone passionate about talent identification and player development, with the ability to combine scouting insight with strong relationship management.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• FA Talent Identification Level 2 qualification
• Experience scouting or coaching within EFL, National League, or EPPP environments
• Strong understanding of player development (technical, tactical, physical)
• Knowledge of relevant FA, FIFA, UEFA, and regulatory frameworks
• Experience using scouting and analysis platforms (e.g. Hudl, Wyscout, StatsBomb, Opta)
• Ability to contextualise observations and deliver accurate player assessments
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel nationally
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Valid DBS check
The club is a forward-thinking professional football organisation committed to developing young players and creating pathways for long-term success.
