Job Description
The Production Assistant will play a key role in all facets of the team’s studio, live and broadcast programming. This role is expected to learn and execute a variety of roles in a control room along with operating cameras, lights and other equipment. Working hand in hand with the team’s producers and editors, this position provides support in all areas of production including media management, shooting press conferences and editing a wide variety of content. This role provides an opportunity to learn and grow within the Jets award-winning content team.
Duration
This is an 8-month seasonal position with a target start date of June 1, 2026 going through January 31, 2027.
Studio Production
• Operate and execute a variety of roles in a studio production setting, including but not limited to cameras, set design, switchers, audio mixer, mics and lighting.
• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the studio and control room, keeping things organized and clean.
• Learn and master new skills demonstrating an ability to operate within a team setting but also independently as well.
• Ability to operate and execute in a live production setting, both in-studio and on remote shoots.
• Ability to listen and take direction from show directors and producers with the capability of adapting and adjusting on the fly.
• Operate and communicate with talent on-set, micing up hosts and analysts, cleaning up wires and maintaining a consistent and high standard for all productions.
• Demonstrate an understanding and willingness to learn lighting techniques and shoot in a wide-variety of locations, having the ability to adapt to different environments and situations.
• Learn and operate sound capture equipment, including but not limited to mixers, mics and booms, ensuring high production value and consistency.
• Work with senior team members on different set designs and looks to keep content fresh and original.
• Operate as a jack of all trades for on-location shoots such as Pregame Central, Jets Overtime, and The Official Jets Podcast serving as floor manager and associate producer when assigned.
Production Support & Logistics
• Assist with gear, helping to maintain and store equipment in an organized and detailed manner
• Operate cameras and sound equipment for press conferences
• Shoot and edit a wide-variety of content including but not limited to podcasts, broadcast shows, features, stadium content, community relations features and other projects as assigned.
• Assist with packing for road trips, gaining a great understanding of full gear inventory and how everything is used
• Work with Media Manager and producers on logging and organizing media
• Assist producers and editors during the post-production process, organizing projects, collecting supporting footage, making graphics and editing scenes/promotional teasers when assigned.
Requirements and Experience
• 1-3 years of demonstrated, hands-on production experience with a strong emphasis on cinematography.
• Experience using editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and other post-production tools.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of high-end production equipment including but not limited to cameras, lenses, switchers, graphics software and lighting equipment
• Ability to lift, move and transport heavy cases and equipment when asked.
• Ability and willingness to work untraditional hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays when assigned.

The Feature and Original Programming vertical is a core pillar of the 1JD Entertainment team, responsible for delivering high-impact storytelling through longform features, original series and studio programming. Since 2018, 1JD Films has delivered award-winning original series such as Origins, One Jets Drive, Flight, The Diehards and The Runway telling the stories of the New York Jets organization through every avenue possible. This group functions as a fully-integrated unit, with each role – from cinematography and studio coordination to post-production – contributing to a streamlined and collaborative workflow. Team members are developed not only within their specialties, but also with exposure to broader production disciplines, ensuring both creative excellence and organizational agility.
The salary range for this role: USD $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on the specific qualifications of the successful candidate.
