WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
SUMMARY
The NHL is seeking a Senior Manager, Ticketing Strategy & Analytics, who will serve as a key member of the Club Services & Strategy team, responsible for deriving data driven insights that support primary and secondary market ticketing performance, and strategic growth initiatives across all 32 Clubs.
The Senior Manager will lead high‑impact analytics initiatives; oversee the development of standardized leaguewide reporting; partner directly with Clubs to evaluate performance and opportunities; and translate complex data into crisp, actionable insights for senior leadership. This role combines technical expertise, business acumen, and the ability to influence outcomes across diverse stakeholders.
This position requires strong analytical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to transform complex data into clear, actionable insights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze League and Club fan (BLADE) data to identify trends, behavioral patterns, and growth opportunities.
- Interface directly with NHL Clubs to assess fan data, provide club-specific insights, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Lead analytic to identify revenue‑generating opportunities and performance efficiencies.
- Lead the buildout and ongoing enhancement of Tableau dashboards, reporting suites, and analytic frameworks used by Clubs and League executives.
- Support and refine data flows into the NHL’s internal ticketing data warehouse.
- Translate complex quantitative findings into compelling narratives, visualizations, and business recommendations.
- Oversee analytics related to leaguewide primary and secondary market performance, including pricing, demand forecasting, yield optimization, and consumer behavior trends.
- Provide executive‑ready insights that inform the League’s ticketing strategy, premium seating initiatives, and cross‑Club benchmarking.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of all reporting outputs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- The ideal candidate will, at minimum, have a degree in a relevant area from a four-year college or university
- 5-7 years of work experience data strategy or analytics, or business intelligence role, preferably within a major professional/collegiate sports team or league (NHL, MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NCAA), but industry experience is not required
- Proven experience leading high‑visibility analytics initiatives that supported executive or C‑suite stakeholders
- Strong technical proficiency including:
- Advanced Tableau skills, including dashboard development and visualization best practices
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Intermediate‑to‑advanced SQL proficiency
- Experience with Python or R preferred (for statistical modeling, automation, or data manipulation)
- Familiarity with fan data platforms, CRM systems, or ticketing data ecosystems a plus
