Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s financial operations by preparing, analyzing, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is responsible for journal entries, general ledger activity, and account reconciliations, and plays a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in accordance with company policies and US GAAP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)
• Manages fixed asset accounting, including capital request administration and capital spend analysis.
• Supports and monitors the monthly close process to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Reviews, prepares and posts journal entries.
• Performs monthly inventory close review, including analysis of Labor & Overhead and Paint Inventory Consumption.
• Ensures information required for financial reporting and month-end close is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Prepares monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations to ensure balances are accurate, reconciling items are properly identified and documented, and adjusting entries are properly recorded.
• Reviews general ledger activity to ensure compliance with company policies, US GAAP, and applicable tax regulations.
• Reviews Excess and Obsolete inventory on a quarterly basis and provides report-out to various levels within the organization.
• Generates customized financial reports and analysis as requested, including completion of assigned tasks related to the monthly Financial Package.
• Assists with internal and external audits and timely responds to all audit requests.
• Identifies potential process improvements for recommendation to Accounting management.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience required; internships, co-ops, or relevant academic experience will be considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, primarily Excel.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP required.
