U18 Academy Analyst at Brentford Fc
Job Description
Brentford FC are seeking a U18 Academy Analyst to lead the performance analysis provision for the Under-18 squad within the Professional Development Phase (PDP) Academy.
Reporting to the Head of Academy Analysis, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering elite analysis support that drives individual player development, reinforces the club's playing philosophy, and enhances the coaching process across one of the Premier League's most progressive academies.
U18 Academy Analyst
- Lead the performance analysis provision for the U18 squad
- Film, code, and analyse all U18 matches and training sessions
- Provide live matchday feedback to coaches and players, including half-time support
- Capture both team and individual performance data aligned to the First Team Style of Play and Academy Player Profiles
- Upload and manage all footage and coded data across club analysis platforms
- Produce engaging pre-match and post-match presentations using video, data, animations, and telestrations
- Create individual IDP (Individual Development Plan) reports to monitor player progression
- Deliver opposition analysis and style-of-play reports
- Support coaches in delivering team, unit, and individual feedback sessions
- Encourage player ownership through innovative analysis delivery methods
- Maintain player and team statistical databases
- Track player development against Academy Player Profiles and IDP objectives
- Record match minutes and monitor Academy Games Programme data
- Develop and maintain individual player and team video libraries
- Collaborate with the Performance Department on multidisciplinary projects
- Work closely with the U18 Head Coach, multidisciplinary team, and Head of Academy Analysis
- Deliver presentations and meetings to coaches, staff, and players
- Provide technical support for player analysis software
- Complete additional projects for Academy leadership
- Ensure analysis provision complies with EPPP standards
- Experience working in elite football at Professional Development Phase level or above
- Degree (2:1 or First Class) in Performance Analysis, Sports Science, or a related discipline
- Excellent football knowledge and understanding of player development
- Experience using analysis platforms such as Angles, Piston, Spiideo, RT Tactic Pro, Wyscout, Tableau, Microsoft Excel, or similar
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and travel internationally when required
- Master's degree in Performance Analysis or Sports Science
- Coaching qualifications or coaching experience
- Data Science qualifications
- Experience within multidisciplinary high-performance environments
