  • Recruiting and Roster Analytics (20%): Build recruiting analytics, support roster, scholarship, and NIL planning, and apply AI-assisted evaluation with human review and privacy safeguards.
  • Competitive and Performance Analytics (15%): Support opponent scouting, game planning, and training-load insights from wearable, video, and biometric data.
  • Data, Technology, and AI Governance (15%): Partner with University IT on data architecture, create a responsible AI framework, and chair athletics data governance under FERPA, HIPAA where applicable, and NCAA and conference rules.
  • Business and Operational Analytics (15%): Build executive dashboards, support budgeting and forecasting, and deliver an annual impact report.
  • Staff and Vendor Management (10%): Supervise analytics staff and students, manage the technology budget and vendor contracts, and represent Athletics on University committees.

  • Progressively responsible experience in collegiate or professional sports analytics, sports technology, performance science, or athletics administration.
  • Ability to build credibility with coaches and translate between athletics and technical teams.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Working knowledge of business intelligence, data visualization, and the capabilities and risks of AI.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing staff, budgets, or vendors.

  • Multi-sport experience, including recruiting analytics and opponent scouting.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python or R, cloud data platforms, and modern BI tools.
  • Experience applying machine learning, generative AI, computer vision, or forecasting to sports.
