Job Description
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
The Cleveland Browns Youth Football Coach is a part-time position responsible for supporting the planning, setup, and execution of youth football programming throughout the summer and fall. These programs include summer camps, clinics, tournaments, and community events focused on flag and tackle football. Coaches will deliver high-energy, educational, and engaging experiences while promoting leadership, sportsmanship, and character development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coach youth & high school athletes (ages 6-17) in a safe, positive, and structured environment during camps, clinics, and special events.
• Full understanding of the basic levels of the game of football along with individual football positions on both offense and defense.
• Support event logistics including set-up, tear-down, check-in/registration, distributing apparel/equipment, and communicating with parents/guardians.
• Promote a fun and inclusive environment that encourages teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition.
• Must demonstrate professionalism in all interactions, including with staff, players, and coaches.
• Monitor player safety and enforce field and equipment protocols.
• Assist with managing supplies, event assets, and supporting operational needs.
• Travel to various locations across Northeast and Central Ohio.
• Represent the Cleveland Browns brand with enthusiasm and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in coaching, sports management, parks & recreation or strength & conditioning.
• Prior experience playing or coaching football.
• Experience working with youth in an educational, athletic, or recreational setting.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and lift up to 80-100 lbs.
• Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• CPR/AED certification and/or completion of USA Football Coach Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and passion for the game of football.
• Strong communication, leadership, and time management skills.
