Job Description

Luton Town Football Club are recruiting a First Team Recruitment Analyst to support the club’s player recruitment operation.

Working closely with the Head of Recruitment, Chief Scout, Club Scouts and Senior Leadership, the analyst will combine video identification, target profiling and recruitment information management to ensure the scouting pipeline is organised, secure and ready to support decision-making during transfer windows.

This is a hybrid recruitment-analysis position combining football intelligence and video scouting with the management of recruitment information and processes.

The successful candidate will help translate the tactical requirements of the First Team Manager and Head of Recruitment into targeted player identification, while ensuring senior decision-makers have access to clear, objective and professionally presented information on potential signings.

  • Source, clip and compile video packages on priority recruitment targets.
  • Use platforms such as Wyscout to conduct player assessment and video identification.
  • Translate tactical profiles provided by the Head of Recruitment and First Team Manager into focused visual evidence.
  • Maintain a live video library covering active recruitment shortlists.
  • Prepare target material for presentation to senior football staff.
  • Build comprehensive, objective player recruitment dossiers.
  • Combine scout reports, video analysis and financial information into decision-making resources.
  • Research player injury histories and career workloads.
  • Contribute appropriate information relating to player character and background.
  • Ensure recruitment dossiers are accurate, concise and presented to a board-ready standard.
  • Maintain the club's centralised recruitment database.
  • Record and organise player recommendations, intermediary information and scout reports.
  • Work with systems such as Notion, Airtable, Scoutastic, Excel or equivalent platforms.
  • Ensure recruitment information is accurate, appropriately categorised and quickly retrievable.
  • Improve information flow and reduce communication bottlenecks, particularly during transfer windows.
  • Take accurate minutes during recruitment and technical meetings.
  • Track actions and outstanding recruitment tasks.
  • Keep the Head of Recruitment informed of outstanding deliverables.
  • Handle transfer targets, financial information and club strategy with strict confidentiality.
  • Minimum two years' experience in a First Team recruitment or performance analysis role within a professional football club.
  • Degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis or a related discipline.
  • Experience maintaining scouting, recruitment or CRM databases.
  • Proficiency with Wyscout or similar scouting platforms.
  • Experience using structured organisational tools such as Notion, Excel or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of football game models and positional profiling.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Calm and solutions-focused when operating under pressure.
  • Comfortable working within the demands of fast-moving transfer windows.
  • An excellent written and verbal communicator.
  • Able to present complex scouting information clearly to coaches and senior leadership.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing multiple targets and deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to take ownership of recruitment systems and processes.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across football and non-football departments.
  • Discreet and trustworthy when handling sensitive transfer and financial information.
  • Technically confident with scouting and video platforms.
  • Passionate about football tactics, player analysis and recruitment.

This is an interesting role for analysts looking to move further into the recruitment and scouting pathway, with responsibilities extending beyond traditional video scouting.

The position covers much of the recruitment intelligence cycle:

Positional Profile → Player Identification → Video Scouting → Target Dossier → Recruitment Database → Shortlist → Senior Decision-Making

The combination of video analysis, scouting intelligence and information management makes this particularly relevant to practitioners interested in modern First Team recruitment departments.

Benefits include:

  • Subsidised healthcare and dental plans.
  • Complimentary meals and snacks.
  • Local and club sponsor discounts.
  • Cycle-to-work, electric-car leasing and technology salary-sacrifice schemes.
  • Club social events.
  • Gym discounts.
  • Access to the on-site Head Office gym.

Applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

The position is full-time, although flexibility will be required given the demands of professional football.
