Job Description

Position Summary Columbus Crew is seeking a Maintenance Technician, Facility Operations to support the safe, clean, and efficient operation of all Columbus Crew properties, including Scotts Miracle-Gro Field, Historic Crew Stadium, and OhioHealth Performance Center. This entry-level role assists with routine inspections, preventive maintenance, basic repairs, and event support activities. Working under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, Facility Operations and alongside the maintenance team, this position helps maintain facility standards, respond to work orders, and support daily operations before, during, and after events. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Complete assigned work orders through the CMMS and document work performed accurately and on time. • Perform routine inspections, basic preventive maintenance, and minor repairs across building systems and facility assets. • Assist with general maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and overall building upkeep. • Support event setup, event readiness, issue response, and post-event follow-up as assigned. • Help maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas, tools, and storage spaces. • Identify, communicate, and report maintenance issues requiring additional support or follow-up. • Follow all department procedures, safety standards, and supervisor direction. • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and other departments to support daily and event operations. • Assist with additional facility and operational duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: • High school diploma or GED. • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. • Basic computer skills and ability to work within a CMMS or work order system. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and communication skills. • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and as part of a team. • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on event schedules and operational needs. Preferred: • Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities, event operations, or a related environment. • Familiarity with CMMS or work order systems. • Basic understanding of safe work practices, including OSHA awareness and lockout/tagout concepts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Basic understanding of general building maintenance tasks and facility upkeep. • Ability to use basic hand tools and perform routine maintenance work safely. • Willingness to learn preventive maintenance procedures and building systems. • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize assigned tasks, and complete work in a timely manner. • Strong teamwork, dependability, and attention to detail. • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, vendors, and internal departments. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, kneel, crouch, and lift throughout the workday. • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely. • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. • Ability to safely use ladders and basic maintenance equipment as required for assigned tasks. What Success Looks Like • Assigned work orders are completed accurately and on time. • Routine maintenance tasks are performed safely and consistently. • Facilities remain clean, functional, and event-ready. • Maintenance issues are communicated promptly and escalated appropriately. • Strong attendance, teamwork, and reliability are demonstrated daily. • Safety procedures and department standards are followed consistently.
