Job Description

COMPANY BACKGROUND The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018) (2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state. PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Command Center Dispatcher is responsible for monitoring systems, documenting activity, and supporting both internal and external partners. This role requires proficiency in MS Shift (internal software), surveillance systems, and basic system troubleshooting. The Dispatcher serves as a critical communication hub, coordinating with third-party contractors, medical personnel, law enforcement, and company management to ensure the accurate and timely flow of information. Success in this role requires professionalism, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The Dispatcher must be adaptable and willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES • Prepare and submit detailed written reports using the stadium’s internal reporting system • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialized operating systems and software • Monitor multiple stadium areas through surveillance camera systems • Identify, document, and report any unusual or suspicious activity • Perform routine system checks and troubleshoot software to ensure optimal performance (training provided) • Communicate effectively with third-party contractors, medical personnel, and law enforcement via radio and verbal interaction • Perform general administrative duties, including answering phones, taking messages, data entry, report writing, and filing • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information across computer systems QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS • Prior experience as a dispatcher • Flexible scheduling • Ability to learn and understand basic computer training on unique operating system(s) • Must be able to pass company background check, with no prior criminal convictions, pending criminal charges, or active arrest warrants KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER ATTRIBUTES • Demonstrate clear, professional communication skills in both verbal and written formats • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication abilities across diverse teams and stakeholders • Possess a working knowledge of basic computer applications, including email systems and fundamental computer operations ORGANIZATIONAL CORE COMPETENCIES • Accountable – Holds themselves (and when appropriate others) accountable for achieving goals and objectives. • Collaborative – Works collaboratively with others to achieve organizational outcomes. • Progressive – Open minded, accepting, creative, and innovative in approach. • Values Driven – Being ethical in decision making and operating with professional integrity. • Agile – Achieves personal and organizational success within a changing, dynamic and complex environment.
