Scouting Insights Analyst at Tottenham Hotspur Fc
Job Description
Tottenham Hotspur are recruiting a Scouting Insights Analyst to join their Football Insights department, using advanced football data and quantitative analysis to support player identification, evaluation and recruitment strategy.
The Scouting Insights Analyst will operate at the intersection of data science and football scouting, turning complex event and tracking data into actionable intelligence for scouts, recruitment staff and football leadership.
The role will help embed evidence-based decision-making throughout Tottenham's recruitment process, identifying emerging talent, evaluating player performance and uncovering potential opportunities across global markets.
- Use advanced statistical analysis to identify, monitor and evaluate recruitment targets across global markets.
- Develop data-driven scouting tools and workflows to improve player identification and assessment.
- Produce clear reports, visualisations and presentations for scouts, recruitment staff and football leadership.
- Lead exploratory research into emerging players, market trends and strategic recruitment questions.
- Develop innovative quantitative approaches to player assessment and benchmarking.
- Help educate scouting staff in the effective interpretation and application of new metrics.
- Work alongside data scientists and engineers to develop and improve analytical models.
- Embed analytical models and insights into existing scouting and recruitment workflows.
- Explore new datasets, methodologies and technologies that could create a competitive advantage.
- Strong expertise in data analysis, statistical methods and data visualisation.
- Programming capability for statistical analysis and modelling.
- Deep understanding of football analytics and player-evaluation metrics.
- Knowledge of the football data-provider landscape.
- Experience analysing football event data for player evaluation and benchmarking.
- Experience using tracking or tracking-derived football data.
- Previous experience within a professional football scouting or Performance Analysis department.
- Strong Python capability.
- Experience developing analytical applications with Streamlit and/or Flask.
- Experience working with StatsBomb data.
- Experience developing metrics using SkillCorner data.
- Experience using cloud-based analytics platforms and technologies.
This is an exciting recruitment analytics role with a significant research component.
Rather than simply reporting existing metrics, the analyst will have the autonomy to explore new ideas, develop player-evaluation methodologies and challenge conventional thinking around recruitment.
For analysts interested in the intersection of football scouting, event and tracking data, statistical modelling and recruitment decision-making, this is a particularly strong opportunity within a Premier League environment.
Tottenham Hotspur operate a Safer Recruitment process, with appropriate background, reference and DBS checks undertaken according to the requirements of the position.
