Job Description

Newcastle United are seeking a Senior First Team Performance Analyst (Post Match) to lead the club’s post-match analysis process within the Men’s First Team environment.

This is an opportunity to work at the heart of an elite Premier League programme, delivering world-class video and data insights that directly inform coaching decisions, player development, and long-term tactical evolution.

Senior First Team Performance Analyst – Post Match

⚽ Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the First Team post-match analysis process
  • Deliver elite-level video and data outputs to coaches and players
  • Analyse technical and tactical performance trends and behaviours
  • Support immediate match feedback and long-term performance development
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach, First Team coaches, and Data & Insights department
  • Produce creative, relevant, and evidence-based analysis aligned with the club’s football philosophy
  • Communicate complex information through impactful presentations and visualisations

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working within an elite professional football environment
  • Strong technical and tactical football knowledge
  • Minimum 2:1 undergraduate degree in a sports-related discipline
  • Proficiency with Hudl Sportscode and Hudl Studio (or equivalent platforms)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and visualisation skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in high-pressure environments
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Confident user of both Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Resilience and adaptability to meet the demands of elite football schedules

⭐ Desirable

  • First Team experience within elite professional football
  • MSc in a sports-related discipline
  • UEFA B Coaching Licence
  • Experience with StatsBomb, Opta, Second Spectrum or similar advanced data platforms
  • Data manipulation and visualisation skills (Excel, Tableau etc.)
  • Experience with Hudl Replay/Flex or drone operation qualifications
