Job Description

Munster Rugby are seeking an Assistant Performance Analyst to support the delivery of world-class performance analysis provision within their elite rugby programme.

Working closely with the Lead Performance Analyst, the successful candidate will contribute across training, matchday operations, opposition analysis, reporting, and player/team performance monitoring within a high-performance rugby environment.

Assistant Performance Analyst

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and manage Senior Team training sessions
  • Assist with A Team and Academy analysis support when required
  • Support live and post-match analysis workflows
  • Conduct opposition coding, statistical analysis, and trend reporting
  • Track player and team performance for seasonal reviews
  • Manage analysis servers, filming equipment, and analysis infrastructure
  • Produce creative Hudl Studio presentations and meeting content
  • Assist in the management and development of trainee/intern analysts
  • Maintain secure and organised analytical databases and footage libraries

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of Rugby Union and its laws
  • Expert knowledge of Hudl Sportscode and associated analysis technologies
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Strong understanding of Apple hardware and software ecosystems
  • Innovative mindset with commitment to continued development

⭐ Desirable

  • 2–4 years of coaching or playing experience
  • Understanding of rugby analytics and performance data
  • Experience using Excel, R, Python, or SQL
  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI visualisation tools
