Performance Analyst England Pathway at The Football Association
Job Description
The Football Association is seeking a Performance Analyst to join its high-performing Performance Analysis department, supporting the England Men's Pathway teams (U16–U20).
Working alongside National Team coaches and multidisciplinary staff, you'll deliver world-class performance analysis that supports tactical preparation, player development, Talent ID, and the continued evolution of England DNA+ playing principles.
Performance Analyst – England Pathway (U16–U20)
- Deliver the FA's performance analysis strategy across England Pathway teams (U16–U20).
- Produce coach- and player-facing resources covering principles of play, opposition analysis, game plans, set plays, and positional development.
- Deliver live, post-match, and camp review analysis to support tactical decision-making.
- Blend video, data, and subjective observations to provide comprehensive performance insights.
- Support coaches with game management, penalty strategies, and individual player development.
- Produce live and video scouting reports alongside the Talent ID department.
- Develop player case studies and positional profiles to support evidence-based selection and development.
- Help identify and monitor emerging England talent through objective and subjective analysis.
- Support the implementation of England DNA+ across the player pathway.
- Collaborate with the Data Insights team to integrate data with video analysis.
- Develop bespoke performance metrics and benchmarks aligned to England's playing philosophy.
- Contribute to cross-departmental research projects that enhance coaching, decision-making, and player development.
- Manage and develop industry-leading analysis technologies and workflows.
- Build strong relationships with coaches and multidisciplinary staff.
- Translate complex tactical and data-driven information into clear, actionable coaching insights.
- Support a collaborative, high-performance environment across all England Pathway teams.
- Experience working within an elite football environment.
- Outstanding football knowledge with the ability to create coach- and player-facing analysis materials.
- Excellent understanding of performance analysis technologies and workflows.
- UEFA B Licence (or equivalent technical/tactical experience).
- Experience working alongside Data Science and advanced modelling teams.
- Undergraduate degree in Performance Analysis, Sport Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent organisational, planning, communication, and presentation skills.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work around international football schedules.
- Master's or Doctorate in a relevant discipline.
- Experience within international football.
- Experience working in European competition.
- Experience supporting coaching session delivery in professional football.
