Job Description
Liverpool FC are seeking a U21 Academy Performance Analyst to support Professional Development Phase (PDP) players as they progress towards first-team football.
Working closely with the U21 coaching staff, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of elite video and data analysis across training and matches, providing evidence-based insights that support both player development and team performance.
U21 Academy Performance Analyst
⚽ Key Responsibilities
- Lead opposition analysis and tactical scouting processes
- Deliver insights on opposition strengths, weaknesses, trends, and key players
- Produce engaging pre-match resources to support player understanding and preparation
- Lead live coding and video capture on matchdays
- Deliver real-time insights to support coaching decisions and half-time feedback
- Provide timely and actionable information during games
- Support the development and delivery of post-match review processes
- Produce impactful review content to support player learning and reflection
- Collaborate with coaches and multidisciplinary staff to enhance performance feedback
- Capture and analyse training sessions
- Link training footage to individual and team development objectives
- Maintain video databases linked to Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
- Track player progress against agreed development goals
- Analyse, interpret, and visualise third-party performance data
- Support the measurement of game model principles and player development outcomes
- Contribute to the development of academy game model libraries and educational resources for coaches
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience delivering performance analysis within elite football environments
- Experience working within academy football and player development programmes
- Strong technical and tactical understanding of football
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to adapt and thrive within fast-paced environments
- Advanced proficiency with Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Hudl Insight, Apple Keynote, Tableau, and Microsoft Office
