Job Description

Liverpool FC are seeking a U21 Academy Performance Analyst to support Professional Development Phase (PDP) players as they progress towards first-team football.

Working closely with the U21 coaching staff, the successful candidate will lead the delivery of elite video and data analysis across training and matches, providing evidence-based insights that support both player development and team performance.

U21 Academy Performance Analyst

⚽ Key Responsibilities

  • Lead opposition analysis and tactical scouting processes
  • Deliver insights on opposition strengths, weaknesses, trends, and key players
  • Produce engaging pre-match resources to support player understanding and preparation
  • Lead live coding and video capture on matchdays
  • Deliver real-time insights to support coaching decisions and half-time feedback
  • Provide timely and actionable information during games
  • Support the development and delivery of post-match review processes
  • Produce impactful review content to support player learning and reflection
  • Collaborate with coaches and multidisciplinary staff to enhance performance feedback
  • Capture and analyse training sessions
  • Link training footage to individual and team development objectives
  • Maintain video databases linked to Individual Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Track player progress against agreed development goals
  • Analyse, interpret, and visualise third-party performance data
  • Support the measurement of game model principles and player development outcomes
  • Contribute to the development of academy game model libraries and educational resources for coaches

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering performance analysis within elite football environments
  • Experience working within academy football and player development programmes
  • Strong technical and tactical understanding of football
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt and thrive within fast-paced environments
  • Advanced proficiency with Hudl Sportscode, Hudl Studio, Hudl Insight, Apple Keynote, Tableau, and Microsoft Office
